We couldn’t do what we do without the support of these wonderful people
After a fairly decent night's sleep my alarm sounded at 9.15am and I headed downstairs to feast on a breakfast of granola and coffee followed with some bread and cheese. All very continental. The cab is picking us up at 11.45am to go and collect Merv and then on to Copenhagen Airport.
With a drama-free journey to the airport there's a quick stop in Starbucks and we board our Ryanair flight to Stockholm (although it's actually Nykoping which is about 100 miles from Stockholm. Ryanair… don't you just love 'em?).
The short flight of about 40 minutes leaves on time. Unfortunately the flight is a bumpy affair so I feel for poor Jim who is a nervous flyer. We land and Steve C meets us. It's about seven degrees colder than Malmö, you can see your breath as we disembark the plane. It's an hour's drive and traffic is bad going into Stockholm. We arrive a little late so it's all hands on deck to get soundchecked before the doors open. After a great team effort all is good and the soundcheck is finished with time to spare. Well done all!
We have an hour for our set tonight so that's good, we can put in a couple of extra songs. Life Is A Highway and All Or Nothing get the nod. Down go the lights, the crowd cheers and we launch into Digging Up The Dirt. It's a great crowd tonight and everyone seems to know the words. We're having fun tonight. Our set finishes all too soon and we leave the stage to ecstatic cheers and applause. Thanks Stockholm for a great night!
We head out to the merch stand and have a chat with some great people. I'm sure I spot Marco Mendoza in the foyer… Surely not… It is Marco! We meet up backstage, he's such a lovely fella. Later we head over to our hotel which is literally a few hundred yards away, check in, dump our bags and head back downstairs for a nightcap. One cheeky bottle of Becks later and time for bed… Wow, these beds are really comfortable!
Night all…
